The Pine Mountain Music Festival is dedicated to nurturing young musical talent and to introduce area young people to opera. Our popular Resident Opera Artist program continues and we have added a similar Resident Chamber Music program. We also have an educational outeach program, OPERAtion Imagination, to introduce young people to the magic of opera.

Resident Opera Artists will number five this year. The highlight will be the production of Bizet/Brook’s La Tragédie de Carmen with piano. We have program details available, as well as information about supporting the Resident Operat Artist program.

The Resident Chamber Musician Program is for college-level chamber musicians. We are pleased to invite an ensemble this year — a string quartet. They will play their own concerts and be mentored by the Bergonzi String Quartet. We have program details available, as well as information about supporting the Resident Chamber Musician program.

OPERAtion Imagination is a free interactive educational outreach program offered to area schools to introduce K-12 students to opera. A Saturday workshop is also offered to provide students in grades 3-8 with a hands-on experience in writing an opera scene and performing the full scene for their parents.
